Chris Low
Chris Low dedicated 40 years of her life to designing and furnishing beautiful homes for her clients. Chris’ legacy is known as Thamesa Designs, a one stop home furnishing establishment founded by her and her partners in the 70s. In the mid 80s, she bought over all the shares and became the sole owner.
Chris scours the world over for exclusive pieces as well original and fresh designs to complement the extensive offerings at Thamesa Designs, positioning it as the go-to place for elites looking to refurbish their abodes. At the height of her career, she provided home décor and soft furnishing to some of the more prestigious hotels in Malaysia, homes of ministers and captains of the industry and most impressively, participated in the restoration of Istana Negara. Not happy to rest on her laurels, Chris subsequently ventured into property development, acquiring run-down estates and re-building them into impressive, high-status holdings. This business proved to be time consuming but extremely fulfilling and kept her busy for more than two decades.
Today, Chris has retired and handed the helm over to the next generation. She now spends her free time continuing the good work at Nasam, in addition to being part of the esteemed board members. She enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs and relishes exploring the neighbourhood’s pasar pagi and pasar malam.
