How long does DOMS last?
DOMS usually lasts between 3 to 5 days. The pain, which can range from mild to severe usually occurs 1 or 2 days after the exercise.

Nothing is proven to be completely effective but there may help to EASE the symptoms :
Rest
Ice Packs
Pain killers
Massage

The soreness is part of adaptation process which leads to greater stamina & strength as the muscles recover and build. Next time you do the same activity at the same intensity, there will be less soreness and faster recovery.
How can I prevent DOMS?
One of the best ways to prevent DOMS is to start any new activity programme gently and gradually. Allowing the muscle to adapt to a new movements should help minimise soreness.
