Your brain is like a CPU — the command centre that controls everything you do. A stroke happens when blood flow to the brain is disrupted, either by a blockage (ischemic stroke) or bleeding (haemorrhagic stroke). Without oxygen and nutrients, brain cells start to die within minutes, leading to problems with movement, speech and thinking.
Recovery isn’t instant — it’s a long journey that requires time, care, and community support.
At the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM), we don’t just provide specialised rehabilitation programmes to help stroke survivors regain independence — we also support stroke awareness education through talks & booths. Education is key to prevention, early detection and recovery.
NASAM needs your support to continue this life-changing work.
We rely on donations to fund rehabilitation programmes and expand our outreach. Every contribution — big or small — helps rebuild lives.
